This Wave Shuttle 1200 is a sturdy and sea-kindly, passenger ferry and was supplied to Clydeside Shipbuilders, Kvaerner Govan Ltd. to be carried on board the command vessel built for the Boeing Corporation ‘Sea Launch’ satellite launching project in the Pacific Ocean. She carries 38 passengers in an air conditioned saloon and she has a W.C. and a raised wheelhouse for all round vision. Externally she has a small cargo area aft, as well as an embarkation area.

The FRWB design has been a joint development between Alnmaritec and Camarc and marks the launch of a new concept in Fast Rescue Boats. The FRWB is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the SOLAS code and is certified as a ‘SOLAS Fast Rescue Boat’, yet she is also functionally designed to suit the requirements of an offshore workboat and is classified as such under the MCA workboat code. She is a rugged and versatile performer drawing many of her features from both the range of Alnmaritec offshore workboats and also from the Camarc range of fast rescue craft.  She is fitted with a single Yanmar diesel driving a Hamilton waterjet (although other propulsion options are also available) and she has a small wheelhouse for up to four personnel, a capstan and line handling gear aft and a bow access platform forward. She incorporates a development of the new ‘Pop Sure’ fendering system which has proved so successful on pilot boats and she is designed to allow ready access for maintenance of all machinery. She is seaworthy, fast and stable and will provide a significant step change in functional performance over the traditional SOLAS fast rescue boats.

This Wave Worker 1500 catamaran is a real brute of a boat and she operates in Plymouth Harbour on the South West Coast of the UK collecting waste material from Royal Navy ships anchored in the outer harbour or occasionally whilst the ships are underway. The 12x6m cargo deck has location points for five standard skips and she is also capable of carrying out pollution control duties. Her spacious wheelhouse contains a galley, W.C. and two day berths for the crew.
