Health & Safety is ingrained into the culture of the way in which work is carried out at Alnmaritec. The company has an exemplary Health & Safety record and it actively champions this safety culture to ensure that all its work is carried out in a safe and healthy working environment.

Health & Safety is planned into projects at an early stage and is continually monitored through tool box talks on the shop floor and at management meetings in the board room.

As you would expect, the company has a comprehensive Health & Safety management system which is under continual scrutiny and the system is accredited to the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

The Board of Directors hereby declare that during the course of work undertaken by the Company all reasonably practicable measures will be taken in order to prevent or avoid risk to its employees and to any other persons who may be affected by the Company’s activities, and are committed to ensuring work activities are carried out safely so far as is reasonably practicable. Compliance with legal requirements will be considered as only the minimum standard required - higher standards will be set out in published occupational health and safety objectives.    

The Company will undertake to provide all necessary resources, i.e. finance, manpower and literature, etc. required to ensure health and safety at work and confirms that the health and safety policy ranks with equal importance to all other policy objectives of the Company.

The Board of Directors has appointed the Managing Director as having specific responsibilities for health, safety and welfare within the Company.

The Company will appoint a Co-ordinator who will be responsible for co-ordinating the health and safety management system.

Managers, Foreman, Team Leaders and employees are required to be conversant with the requirements of the Company’s current procedures so far as it affects their day top day work activities.

It is the collective responsibility of Managers, Foreman and Team Leaders to ensure regular safety checks are made.

The Company will consult with employees and actively encourage suggestions to improve health and safety. 

The aims and objectives of this Policy will be made known to all employees and other interested parties.

The achievement of these objectives will be made through the Company and arrangements detailed in this health and safety manual, and other supporting documentation.

The policy and associated documents will be reviewed at least every 2 years; any changes will subsequently be made known to employees

The Company asks that all employees co-operate and comply with the requirements imposed on them to enable a high standard of health and safety to be achieved.

The Company will constantly strive for continuous improvement and has a commitment towards the prevention of injury and ill health at work.
